5 Tiger Balm Uses

*Tiger Balm has currently been trending--despite it having been around since the 1870's. According to their official website, Tiger Balm "has risen from the ancient courts of Chinese emperors to worldwide prominence. It all began when Aw Chu Kin, a Chinese herbalist working in the Emperor’s court, left China and set up a small medicine shop called Eng Aun Tong in Rangoon in the late 1870s, where he would make and sell his special ointment that was effective in relieving all kinds of aches and pains."

We'll take their word for it! Though this trendy ointment has been making recent waves, their tried and true ancient herbal formula is what makes it so effective. Here are 5 Tiger Balm uses that we love, besides its cooling, herbal scent.

1. Joint Pain

Joint pain can be hard to deal with, especially if you deal with chronic pain from Arthritis or other sources. Tiger Balm works to provide temporary pain relief to sore joints.

2. Backaches

Got a sore back? Massage Tiger Balm Red Extra Strength or Tiger Balm Ultra Strength onto your sore spots--or even bring it with you to your next massage appointment!

3. Strains, Sprains & Bruises

If you're injured, see a doctor. While you're healing, Tiger Balm Liniment, the fast-acting liquid version of Tiger Balm, can provide temporary relief of minor aches and pains.

4. Before or After a Workout

If you're someone who goes all out in the gym, or if it's been a while since you've been to the gym, try applying your favorite Tiger Balm product to all the sore spots. For extra care on sore areas, try a Tiger Balm Pain Relieving Patch, with hydrogel patch technology and long-lasting strength.

5. Bugs

Nothing is more annoying than pesky bug bites! Tiger Balm Red Extra Strength muscle pain relieving ointment also works fast to soothe itch due to insect bites. Rub over affected area to reduce aches, swelling and other discomforts quickly and effectively.
