Today, we wanted to introduce you to a new brand we’ve welcomed to our stores: Ivyees! After working nearly 20 years as an engineer, Ivy Lawson decided to quit her corporate job and start her own business after tasting Jamaican honey. When describing her reasoning for working with Jamaican honey, Ivy states, “It is considered to be one of the best honeys in the world because of [Jamaica's] mineral-rich soil, and abundant floral and nutrient rich plants.” (For more info on the many benefits of honey, check out our recent honey article.)

Ivyees is proud to be a sustainable, Black-owned, woman-owned, mom-owned company. After experiencing success with her traditional honey items, she now sells a myriad of unique honey products ranging from hair care, skin care, and even toothpaste! Therefore, we wanted to share a few of our personal favorites.

Night Recovery Creme

It doesn't get much simpler than three nourishing ingredients! Jamaican honey, lavender, and evening primrose oil are all that you will find in this lush Night Recovery Cream formula. Evening primrose is a rich source of omega-6 fatty acids. Therefore, it can aid in boosting moisture in the skin. Additionally, lavender has been used for centuries in beauty products, mainly for its high antioxidant count which helps protect skin against free radical damage. This is a rich and regenerative cream to assist the skin's cell renewal process. It's perfect for dull or dehydrated skin in need of a pick-me-up!

Age-Defying Eye Creme

For those looking for an Age Defying Eye Cream to target fine lines and wrinkles, look no further! Vitamin E and Manuka honey are the star ingredients in this formula. Vitamin E skin care has been touted as a powerful antioxidant and may help reduce free radical damage and UV damage from the sun. Additionally, Manuka honey can aid in moisturizing the skin due to its natural humectant properties and sugar components.

Clear Skin Cleansing Gel

This Clear Skin Cleansing Gel cleanser washes away makeup and dirt without stripping the skin of moisture. We love to use this as a second-step cleanser, after massaging and washing the skin using an oil cleanser. Manuka honey and Manuka oil work alongside skin-loving ingredients such as rose hip oil and colostrum. For those unfamiliar with colostrum, it is loaded with a variety of essential vitamins, amino acids, and minerals. The combination of these ingredients help purify the skin and prepare it for the next step: serum!

Skin Renew Firming Serum

Suitable for all skin types, this Skin Renew Firming Serum works to repair damaged skin and boost cell renewal. Vitamins C and E, along with marine collagen, assist in firming the skin and its elasticity. Fruit extracts, like kiwi fruit and pomelo, work synergistically to provide antioxidants such as polyphenols to protect the skin from common environmental pollutants.
