Probiotic-Rich Papaya Smoothie – Gut Health 101

For the third installment of our gut health series, we introduce a delicious summer smoothie with gut-loving ingredients! This probiotic-rich papaya smoothie includes healthy servings of fat, fiber, and protein so you can stay full for longer! Furthermore, the yogurt used below features naturally fermented probiotics to help aid in digestion. We love the variety of fruit available in the summer and highlight papaya because of the many digestive enzymes naturally found in the tropical fruit. If you don’t have papaya stocked in your fridge, have no fear! This can easily be swapped for antioxidant-rich berries or banana depending on your taste preference.

Ingredients:

1 cup of fresh or frozen papaya

1-2 tbsp of Field Day Organic Raw Wildflower Honey (can use a few drops of monk fruit or stevia instead)

1 tbsp of Now Foods Organic Fiber-3

1-2 scoops of Truvani Vanilla Plant Protein Powder (we love Bluebonnet Whey Protein Isolate Vanilla as well!)

1 serving of Cocojune Organic Cultured Coconut Yogurt

8-10 fl. oz. of water or Elmhurst Unsweetened Milked Almonds

Directions:

  1. Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until thoroughly combined.
  2. Enjoy!
